A Blue Agenda in the Green Deal

The Ministerial Conference "A Blue Agenda in the Green Deal" will reinforce the importance of the sustainable blue economy in European economic recovery and the role that Integrated Maritime Policy (IMP) must play in a blue, resilient, digital, social and global Europe. 

An Integrated Maritime Policy High-level Ministerial Meeting will take place during the morning. In the afternoon, a timely debate will focus on the Council Conclusions on a sustainable blue economy, and on the relation between EU Integrated Maritime Policy goals and the United Nations 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (notably, Goal 14). In this sense, four recognised keynote speakers will address on the topics of ocean´s health, knowledge and ocean awareness, prosperity, and fair and equitable socio-economic conditions. Finally, four project pitches will emphasize how innovation, knowledge and information are instrumental to conciliate a sustainable blue economy in the EU.

H.E. Minister of the Sea of Portugal, Ricardo Serrão Santos is the host, opening and closing this Conference, organised by the Ministry of the Sea, under the Portuguese Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
